I am recruiting for a Design / Development Engineer with mechanical design experience exclusively on behalf of my client, a leading Manufacturing Company based in the UK.

STRONG EXPERIENCE OF MECHANICAL DESIGN & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED

The Role
This is your chance to work on production and development design projects focused on hydraulic products and systems. You’ll take each project from concept to manufacture, meeting budgets and deadlines. You’ll strive for cost reduction and quality improvement, while applying innovative thinking. The role is a mixture of a design engineer and a development engineer job functions with the requirements for both design and analytical skills to suit; this affords an amount of flexibility to the company. Responsible for completing Product Improvements and innovative solutions to a wide portfolio of clients within a varied market sector from Oil & Gas, Marine, Energy, Aerospace, Metals and Forgings, you’ll be a key member of a respected team.

The Candidate
An experienced Mechanical Design/Development Engineer supporting the Engineering & Development managers in the provision of technical information, instruction and drawing and design of Complex Mechanical Hydraulic Solutions. Your technical expertise comes with strong people skills. You can present to small groups and represent our client.

Key Experience/Skills

  • Knowledge of pumps, valves, machined components and high pressure equipment
  • Proven mechanical design engineering experience in high-precision parts and assemblies
  • Knowledge of equipment directives such as Atex & PED would be beneficial
  • 3D design software – Solidworks or similar
  • Calculation software – Mathcad or similar
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD)
  • Microsoft Office Competent

Qualifications
HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline with preferably 10 years’ experience OR
Degree in a mechanical engineering discipline with at least 5 years’ experience
