Boiler Operator to join a multi-billion-pound chemical manufacturer that produces a large amount of raw materials used in the UK Construction sector. The role is initially for a 3-month temporary assignment with the opportunity for the position to potentially become permanent. The hourly pay rate is £19PH working a shift pattern of 6 on 4 off ( 2x mornings 6am-2pm – 2x afternoons 2pm-10pm & 2x nights 10pm-6am.)

In the role of a Boiler Operator, your responsibility will be to Expertly operate and maintain high pressure boilers, steam turbines, industrial chillers, air compressors, and various pumps.

The successful Boiler Operator will also be expected to demonstrate a sound knowledge of instruments is essentials i.e.. flow meters, pressure sensors, level sensors and hold a BOAS qualification.

Boiler Operator Responsibilities

  • Have continuous contact with Production units to ensure steam is generated to match demand for a number of batch processes and that steam plant is available as required.
  • Observed pressure, temperature, feed water regulators and burners.
  • Provide routine maintenance and first line breakdown repairs, including basic mechanical and pipefitting repairs, modification and improvements
  • Turned valves and adjusted controls to set specified water level and steam pressure of machinery.
  • Maintain a room log, recorded meter, and gauge data readings, such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed.
  • Perform a thorough inspection of equipment every day.

To be successful within this position you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in process plant operations as a Boiler Operator within a chemical, manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering Industry.
