Due to an increase in orders, we have a requirement for a skilled Aluminium Welder with one of the UK’s leading companies within its industry sector who believe work should be enjoyed and satisfying; after all this is where you spend most of your valuable time. As an aluminium welder, your main duty will include the fabrication of aluminium frames from an engineering drawing to a high standard. Working under the control of the department supervisor and other team members, you will also be asked to perform other various tasks which will include TIG welding on stainless steel and MIG welding steel section.

Specific Duties:

  • Proficient in TIG & MIG welding techniques along with working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Interpret prints and engineering drawings and apply fabrication or welding techniques
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in fabricating fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment and especially must be able to interface and communicate with supervisors / team members
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Competencies:

  • Apprentice trained / Time Served Welder / Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker
  • Good knowledge of working with aluminium is essential along with previous exposure to Stainless & Mild Steel which is desirable.
  • Certificates in welding preferred
  • Good engineering / fabrication knowledge
  • The ability to understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to follow processes and procedure accurately
  • A comprehensive understanding of safety procedures

This role is working on a regular day shift with a 39-hour working week. The hours of work are 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday – Thursday & 8.00am – 3.30pm Friday. Overtime is also available at time and a half & double time which is dependent on the workload.
